Emma Roberts has spoken out about her arrest on Sunday evening after getting into a fight with her boyfriend Evan Peters. According to , the 22-year-old actress — whose aunt is Julia Roberts — got into a heated argument at the weekend that left star Evan with a bloody nose.

In a statement to , the couple said, "It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

On Sunday evening, police in Montreal were called to the hotel where the couple were staying after someone reported a disturbance in their room. Upon arrival, the website reports, police officials noted that Evan had a bloody nose and a bite mark, and Emma was promptly arrested. 

She was released a few hours later because Evan, 26, declined to press charges. The pair were said to be hitting each other, and Emma was arrested because her boyfriend had obvious physical injuries. 

A law enforcement source also said Evan had a bite mark, but a source close to the actress denied she had bitten him. Emma and Evan have been dating since spring 2012. He has described the actress as "the love of my life". They were last seen together at premiere in June, and are now back working together on , in which Emma also has a recurring role.
